I'm doing this without the benefit of the principles of the book, I just got a good paying job in a war zone and am putting a large portion of my pay towards my mortgage. Many of my friends and family are curious how I've done this at my relatively young age (42) but so far all responses are enthusiastic. Most say they are not willing to spend 3 years away from family as I have to make this happen. My path is not for everyone, but no body seeing me as gloating, and Im not trying to lord it over anyone. I'm just tickled pink that this is possible. I plan on retiring at 43 and 'homesteading' for the rest of my life. I’m 10 months from paying off my mortgage, which is my last debt on the planet.
